What's New at Rimrock Trails - Q3 2023
Rimrock Trails has expanded their Prineville Counseling Clinic, offering a wide range of specialty behavioral health services including individual, group, family, and couples counseling, outpatient substance use treatment, telehealth counseling, telepsychiatry, and medication management. The clinic features five therapy rooms and a large group space. Additionally, they are hiring bilingual therapists and offering a $10K sign-on bonus. Rimrock Trails also announced recent grant awards supporting their adolescent treatment programs and scholarship fund. For more information, visit their website.

We are beyond grateful for your incredible support at our second annual mental health awareness and fundraising event, A Life-Changing Lunch! Your kindness and dedication to our community helped us raise over $18,000, ensuring that individuals and families in Central Oregon can access the behavioral health services they need, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Rimrock Trails is pleased to introduce Child and Family Therapist Katherine Amman, LCSW. Katherine specializes in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, also known as PCIT at our Bend Counseling Clinic.
PCIT is an evidence-based treatment program designed for caregivers and their young children (2 to 7 years old) who are experiencing social, behavioral, and/or emotional difficulties.

The Team at Rimrock Trails is thrilled to announce we have reopened our Adolescent Residential Treatment Program.
Located in beautiful Prineville, Oregon, Rimrock Trails Residential Treatment Program is specifically designed for adolescents 12-17 years of age who are struggling with co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders.
We are especially grateful to our community and partnering agencies Statewide, including the Oregon Health Authority, Oregon Council for Behavioral Health, and Pacific Source Community Solutions who showed unwavering support and encouragement for reopening the youth residential treatment program. We couldn't have done it without you.

Due to mental illness, last October we lost a beautiful soul way too early. But Kiefer's story didn't end there. Due to three ongoing campaigns, the love and light that Kiefer brought to so many lives on!

Rimrock Trails Treatment Services is grateful to receive $4,000 in grant funds from the Northwest Farm Credit Services Rural Community Grant Fund. This funding supports the work Rimrock Trails already has underway including, a $50,000 renovation project in our Crook County-based adolescent residential treatment program.

Rimrock Trails is looking for experienced, Master’s level trauma and family Therapists to work with teens in our Prineville-based Residential treatment program. We have only two remaining Therapist positions to fill and our new Residential team will be complete!
Filling these two positions is critical to our reopening in early 2022. In lieu of hiring a recruiter to fill the two positions, Rimrock Trails would like to utilize our community partners to help us.

Rimrock Trail’s counseling clinics are thriving and that is in part thanks to the amazing and important work of Outpatient Counselor, Chelsi Howard!
Chelsi started her career with Rimrock Trails in the residential treatment program and eventually moved into the Bend counseling clinic. She holds her master’s in Clinical Counseling with a concentration in wilderness therapy from Naropa University in Boulder Colorado.

With funding from the Oregon Health Authority’s 2020 CORONAVIRUS RELIEF FUNDS FOR LICENSED RESIDENTIAL PROVIDERS, Rimrock Trails has partnered with Able Construction, LLC to start renovations which will increase the safety of our clients and staff in the adolescent residential treatment program due to the risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.

We are thrilled to welcome Kiley Gilbert, PMHNP-BC, to the Rimrock Trails team. Looking to increase access to psychiatric medication management in Central Oregon, Kiley will be the contact for our new telepsychiatry practice.
Kiley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology and Spanish from Augustana College, Bachelor and Master’s of Science degrees in Nursing from the St Louis University in Missouri, and she is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.

The stress of the COVID-19 crisis is exacerbating individuals’ anxiety, depression, grief, and a myriad of other concerns. Fear and anxiety about the disease, isolation, and job insecurity can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children. May is nationally recognized as Mental Health Awareness Month and there is no better time to talk about mental health than right now.

We are thrilled to welcome Maggie Allen to the Rimrock Trails team. On the job for just two weeks, Maggie is fulfilling the required Bridging the Gap Behavioral Health Navigator position.
Prior to moving to Oregon three weeks ago, Maggie worked for seven years in mental health and two years in health care recruitment. In addition to work, Maggie is pursuing a degree in psychology and communications.

Due to an urgent need in the community for child and family counseling services, Rimrock Trails hired Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Jackie Taylor to offer specialized counseling services focused on children diagnosed with mental health disorders and their families. The clinic will continue to provide individual and group counseling services to persons of all ages and with Jackie's direction incorporate a specialized focus on children's mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief.

A huge shout out for another wonderful donation from our friends at The 1017 Cattle Project. In early January, this awesome group of volunteers donated a 1/2 beef to fill the freezer in our teen residential treatment program's kitchen. This is the third donation from this amazing organization. Their giving spirit is an inspiration!

Thank you to the very talented and skilled community of Our Savior's Stitchin Sisters, for gifting us 20 beautiful quilts. The quilts will be given as warm and comforting Christmas gifts to the teens who will be in our residential treatment program and away from home during the Holiday Season.
